Molly McBride

Molly McBride

I figure everyone has given up on checking our blog, but for the few who haven't lost hope, here are some pictures of the newest addition to our family. WOW! My hat goes off to all of you who have dogs and survived the puppy stage. It is such an adjustment, but we love her. She is a labradoodle ( a mix between a standard poodle and a lab), so she will get big. She fits in pretty well to this slightly chaotic home of ours.

There are a few minor issues like the fact that Molly thinks Abi's long hair is irresistable and she jumps up from behind and hangs on it. For the first time in her life, Abi likes her hair up most of the time now :) Molly also thinks dresses are too much fun, so we frantically change on Sunday after church.

Libby loves Molly - especially from a place she can't be jumped on. The kitchen table, kitchen counter, or swingset work great.

Kate and Molly seem to have this understanding. Kate can pester her, mess with her food, put stuff in her kennel through the holes (like 30 tiny hair elastics as shown in the picture), swim in her water bowl, or whatever she pleases, and Molly in return is more gentle with her than anyone. Go figure. I'm predicting they will be good little friends.

Well there you have it, another small chapter in the life of the McBrides. Just to keep you on your toes, I may post again - someday :)

Endless Libby Lines

Pointing to a picture she had colored of Martin Luther King, Libby says, "This guy had a dream that we gotta love everybody."

Jen: "Libby, you look like a million bucks!"
Libby: "I look like I have a million of pink stuff on me - pink socks, pink shoes and a pink sweatshirt!"

She tells me, in a very distressed and discouraged tone, "Dad is so much stronger than me. He can even lift me and I can't even lift him."

Her primary teacher asked if she could give him some of her freckles after church and she said, "I can't, I'm not even magic."

Libby found heaven

So dinner on my birthday was great! On our drive to the restaurant I was telling the kids about President Hinckley's death. Abi said she wished she knew what heaven looked like. Then on our way home from the restaurant it was dark and Libby said very enthusiastically, "Abi, I think I found heaven, look over there! " We looked, and sure enough, The Bogus Basin ski resort all lit up at night and at the top of the mountain could have easily been mistaken for heaven. Abi stared at it a minute and even she was a little stumped. That would have been quite a birthday present to find the road to visit heaven!

Wow! I created a blog ALL BY MYSELF!!

Honestly - Mark is going to be so proud of his now 33 year old wife for creating a blog without his help. Don't anyone tell him how easy it is :)

So it's my birthday today and I just wanted to spend the day doing stuff I never usually do - so I've been reading a few blogs and I think they are the greatest things ever!!! It's a little bittersweet because it makes me miss people even more, but at least I feel a little closer to them. We are going to dinner tonight at a great little Mexican food place in Kuna. My favorite part about it is the fresh guacamole they make right at your table. Yes, someone else is going to make dinner tonight so Happy Birthday to Me!!!
